Jax is the longest resident in the Sweet Bark family and would really love to find a home of his own! He's a big boy with a lot of energy so will need an active family! He's a great dog, good with kids, loves to swim and is quite the handsome guy! He's young, around a year, and has been in 4-5 homes already so he needs some stability and a family to finally call his own. He's done well with the other dogs he's met so far. We got to meet Shorty Rossi, Ashley and Hercules which was really exciting! Sticky Fingers Bakery was there w/ the yummiest brownies ever! And ZUZU studio gallery was amazing! What an amazing day we had today! I'm so happy, thrilled actually, to report that Kayla will be finally getting her MRI! We recieved a call today from Pet Scan that an anonymous donor (or angel as she's been called) has offered to pay for Kayla's MRI! I'm still in awe. I have so much admiration for this person. It's difficult for me to find the words to express how truly grateful I am. I can't seem to put it into words, but please know I am so thankful and appreciative for this. As his her foster Mom! And if Kayla could say thank you she'd be singing it while doing her little Jitterbug dance! I was so touched by this generousity that I was brought to tears...HAPPY TEARS of course! Then I was filled with joy at the thought that such wonderful people are out there and that we have their support! We're very lucky to have such a strong and amazing network of supporters! Or family as I prefer to think of it!

I do wish I knew who it was so that I could thank them personally. I will admit that we've all been saying "Do you think it was ...?", "Could it have been...?". But I also respect this person tremendously and if it's their wish to remain anonymous then I can appreciate that. I do hope that they will read this and know how thankful we are. And how much we appreciate what they are doing for our darling Kayla!

I like to think of Sweet Bark as more of a community rescue. We absolutely couldn't do what we do without people like this and without the support of so many wonderful people. It's not just Sweet Bark saving these dogs, but you as well! We're doing this together! We're so grateful for your help and support. It means more than I can ever express in words. So again thank you! Thank you for your generousity, kindness and support! And for being a part of the Sweet Bark family!

Kayla needs an MRI! And we need your help!

Our sweet Kayla needs an MRI and we need to raise $700 for it.

Kayla has lameness in her rear legs that we've been unable to diagnose. We've taken her to a specialist, Dr. Hodges, Valley Central Referral, and we need to do an MRI. It can be anything from a slipped disc to a pinched nerve to a mass.

So, this is Kayla's raffle to help raise funds to get her the MRI!

Tickets are $10/entry. Raffle will start 4/27 and end 5/7 @ 11:30 est. Winners will be announced online and via email May 8th.

Sweet Cyrus needs a foster ASAP!

Meet Cyrus! This sweet boy is currently in boarding and needs to find a foster home ASAP! He's a wonderful, loving, playful boy! He's a young boy, only 1 1/2yrs old. Housebroken. Rides nicely in the car. Good with other dogs. Good with kids.

His previous owner brought him back from Tx where he was going to be PTS due to lack of a home. The problem is that he works 12+ hours a day and can not care for Cyrus. He was being crated for 13-14hrs and was underfed. I

If anyone can help, please contact us ASAP! We need to get him out of boarding and into a foster home where he can grow to his full potential! Thanks!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Matilda this is her story.

Matilda is a 2 yr old sweetheart! This girl isn't only beautiful on the outside, but inside as well! She's loves everyone, is always happy and always has a smile on her face! She literally bounces with joy and you can't help but feel good when she's around! This girl is pure sunshine! She enjoys being around other dogs, loves all people big and small and gets along with cats, too ...although they don't always like her! Matilda, or Mossimo as she's often called, just wants to have fun and the world is her playground! She loves to run, play with her toys, ride in the car and snuggle with her pillow!

She came from a shelter where her time was running out, but she was a staff favorite and they did everything they could to help her get into a rescue. She's now safe and sound and ready to embark on her new life as an ambassador to her breed! She's working to get her Canine Good Citizen and hopes to be a therapy dog one day! Matilda is the perfect candidate for the job!"

Meet Gia! We've been working to help Gia since September when we found out about her. She ended up at the shelter when her previous owner could no longer care for her. After spending 3 months in a shelter we finally got her out! We're so happy to officially be welcoming Gia in as part of the Sweet Bark family!

And what a sweetheart she is! She's good with dogs, cats and kids! She good in the car, housebroken and knows basic commands. Gia is about 7yrs old and has been bred a lot in her life time, but that's in the past and what matters is how special this girl is! The family that opens their heart and home to her will be very lucky and rewarded with a endless love and kisses (she sneaks them in when you're least expecting it!).

Our foster home for Gia fell through and we do need to find her a foster ASAP! If you can help please let us know!

We've had an amazing month and it isn't even over! 3 adoption in one weekend and then another this past week! We're so happy that 4 of our amazing dogs found wonderful homes this month! We're truly blessed and thankful to the families that opened their homes and hearts! <3

Meet Eli!

Eli is a love sponge! He is very young, around one year old. He is a Spaniel or Coon hound/Pit mix with the most gorgeous green eyes. He plays with all dogs and is just complete joy. Eli is fostering in Upstate NY, but if you're in Pa we can make arrangements for you to meet him as well.

He knows sit and drop it (most of the time). His foster Mom is working with him on perfecting those and starting more commands. He's good with the kids! Although we wouldn't recommend him to a home that has small children unless the kids are used to a rough and tumble big dog. He can be a bit clumsy. He falls off of furniture, down and up stairs and slides on the hardwood floors. His huge paws seem to get in his way. He's such a goofy boy!

This little guy was found eating out of a garbage can in North Philly. Local residents said he's been wandering the streets for a few weeks. Luckily a good samaritan, Sharon, picked him up and took him home with her. But she didn't realize how difficult it would be to get him into a rescue or foster home.

We had someone interested in fostering him, but it didn't work out. So now he's looking for a foster or furever home! He's a great little guy, a little shy and learning the basic of being a house dog, but overall a BIG SWEETHEART!! Great with other dogs, cats, small animals and kids!!!

He's been neutered, is UTD on vaccines and dewormed! And got a clean bill of health from the vet. He's estimated to be about a year old so he's definitely a pocket Pittie!!!

Six, Dixie and Trixie!

We just added 3 new additions to the rescue. Six (dad) and Trixie and Dixie (puppies). Trixie and Dixie are currently in foster. Trixie has an adoption pending. Six is in need of a bully experienced foster or furever home. All 3 are wonderful and as cute as can be. Six just craves loves and security and will shower you will kisses!!

Meet Daisy!

Daisy was found by a good samaritan wandering a country road covered in wounds and very underweight. We will never know Daisy's full story, but what we do know is that she's appoximately 3-4 years old, deaf, has had a litter of puppies and appears to have been used as a bait dog. Daisy still needs time to heal and learn to trust people but with a little more time and positive reinforcement she'll be ready to start her new life very soon! In just a short time Daisy has really come around and she's already at a healthy weight and is starting to come out of her shell. She's an absolutely beautiful girl and has one brown eye and one blue eye. She's great with other dogs and kids! And just loves to get her belly rubbed!! She's UTD on her rabies vaccine, de-wormed and scheduled for her spay, dental, heartworm/lyme test and mircochip June 1st at the Trucksville Dog and Cat Hospital. http://www.trucksvillevethospital.com/
